Good Morning!!What wakes you up in the morning? What gets you out of bed? Well for me, its a slobbery kiss from a 6year old Jack Russel called Boston, followed by a hard squeeze from my bedmate and husband: Martin. After a hearty breakfast the next stop is my "office" to practice my strokes. Usually it takes a while to warm up my hand-- the first few lines are wobbly and look like chicken scratch. But after a few practice pieces I find that the nib doesnt snag too much, ink doesnt blot as much and what I produce is actually pretty. This post is dedicated to all the tools of my morning ritual. So here goes: I do what I'd like to call Spotify+Calligraphy simply because music has helped me a lot to find inspiration: whether its in what to write, flourishing, letter style, typography etc. All I do is open my spotify app, connect my phone to the speakers and click on a playlist -- which usually is the "Top Hits". Ever since being a kid music has been some kind of draw to me and this has been a great transcendence of that! After getting my music on, now to ready my tools. Typically I pull out the ff:
