A TEACHER'S LOVE
Prepared a printable for a friend to be given to her High School teacher's during their 20th year reunion. Read all about it here. Its always great to be reminded of these feel-good moments where we step back and really give our thanks to the important people who have touched our lives. :)
1st website logo: cinderella merz
You can read all about the process here of how I was able to make my first ever website logo for lifestyle blogger Cinderella Merz. The whole process was quite exciting especially when you are able to translate a person's vision into reality. Here's the final piece which you can also see in her website. Enjoy!
1st international comission: collaboration with Alex-anna
Had my first international commission via a collaboration with US-based freelance designer Alex-Anna. I did the calligraphy and she designed the wedding suite. Congratulations in advance to the bride Samantha, hope your day is extra special and full of love!
Helping Hand: Mano Amiga Thank You Cards
My sister currently works for an International Non-Government Organization that provides international-school curriculum education for marginalized children. This organization is called Mano Amiga and is currently based in Fort Bonifacio.
They recently had a thanksgiving celebration for all sponsors last February 24 and I'm glad that I was part of it. My sister commissioned me to make "Thank You" cards to be distributed and later on sold to fund Mano Amiga's different projects. The theme was "child-like" or make cards that reflect the spirit of the school. I came up with four designs, one of which has already been printed and distributed. :) Check them out below:

I'm so excited! This is the first time my customized work will be distributed in a large scale. It was truly inspiring to make the cards, my creative juices were readily flowing for this one. And its a great motivator to know that I'll be helping such a worthy cause. Hope you guys can too, by buying cards from Mano Amiga Philippines. By clicking on the link you will be directed to their blogspot website that details what they do as an organization. Here is what my card looks like during their thanksgiving celebration. :) Photo Credit from Mano Amiga's FB Page
Pieces by Hand
Ever since I started this calligraphy journey in 2014 I have gotten a few requests for commissioned pieces. Some were solo projects here and there but last December got my first "big break" when I was requested to letter 200+ escort cards for a wedding this January 10. Never realized how Gold ink on black or white Paper could look so good. Here are snippets of the cards that I had to cut, score and prepare entirely by Hand.
Letras
I've decided to do a series called "Letras" -- using watercolor I bring to life people's names with slight embellishments: things like roses, leaves, fishes, etc. I first started out with my name (check out photo above) but after posting it on IG and FB got overwhelming support and requests that my collection has now started to grow. Here are the fruits of my labor.
#onewordonemonth
To improve my calligraphy skills I have accepted the #onewordonemonth challenge.
Mechanics is to post one word each day in a calligraphic style. Simple isn't it? Which is why I decided to start with this challenge first! Perhaps when I'm better, I'd graduate to #onephraseonemonth or something like that. haha
Hopefully having a gallery of all 30 photos (corresponding to 30 days of words), I'll see my progress.
Send me a shout out for suggestions, critique, etc. PLAY NICE!! :)
