With Christmas drawing near many people, myself included, have flocked to department stores to do last minute shopping. This doesn't go unnoticed and different malls provide different kinds of "pakulo" to entertain its goers and make the mad rush a pleasant experience.
1. Alabang Town Center (or ATC) ATC holds a sweet spot in my heart because I'm a south girl. And every year, we know it's christmas when ATC begins its fireworks display every Friday-Sunday at 7pm. The entire show of colorful bangs lasts only 20 minutes, but that is long enough to draw a crowd especially kids. 2. Rockwell Just yesterday, Mart and I were there to look for some Christmas gifts. Rockwell has taken the musical route by providing live perfomances for its shoppers. On one side there is a pianist churning out christmas carols and on the other end of the mall there is a full chorale singing a different set of songs. The mall has been courteous enough to even provide seats on all 4 flours so shoppers can watch the musical display in comfort. 3. Landmark This by far is my favorite. A while ago we stopped by Landmark to buy shoes for Martin's cousin when suddenly our shopping was cut short by rapid drum beats. Apparently they were staging a "changing of the guard" complete with costumes. Literally this was a signal that the mall security guards where ending one shift and replacing the present stationed guards with a new one. No wonder the mall's costumes look very much like the guards seen in the Vatican. (photos below)
