I first encountered this song during High School Glee Club and it has remained a favorite ever since. It really heralds for me Christmas now upon us with the Advent Season starting next week! (How time flies so fast!) Here's something to think about. In the middle of your Christmas shopping and gift wrapping, dont forget that December 25th is the celebration of Jesus Christ's coming. Kaya nga it's called CHRIST-mas. That a child born in a dirty, small and sabihin na natin disgusting manger is actually the SON OF GOD -Savior, Redeemer and King. Jesus entered this world in a very unassuming way and yet his life continues to send ripples of change and inspiration until this very day. That is transcendent love. Here's the song covered by acapella group PENTATONIX. Enjoy!

Mart and I decided to gift each other something to celebrate our 2nd anniversary. Initially we said "No Gifts!" but coudnt resist Lazada's November sale two weeks ago. It was a big test of EQ to wait for the packages that arrived only today considering the site mentioned that provincial delivery should only take 5-10 days. Luckily I had a friend working in 2Go (the courrier), thanks ANJ (!!), who notified me once the items arrived in Legazpi Soil. Knowing it was in the same city made time move slower and my heart beat faster! And finally at around 1pm (thereabouts!) they came!! We have never been happier! I wont reveal what we got each other but at the very least these will be on test drive by tomorrow. Another treat to ourselves after succeeding weeks of work and social commitments taking up our days from mon-sunday, we're going a short trip to a beach we've never been before but heard so much about! I am looking forward to munching on seafood especially oysters, crabs and fish! I am especially going to relish spending time together under the sun, on the sand or in the sea. Time away from our other commitments and focusing on just the 2 of us is, to me, an ideal way of spending our anniversary. Who knows, this might give us the chance to really invest on our next big project: A BABY! everywhere I look I see christmas in the air. Carols decorations and lights. No wonder its such a great inspiration to me. These are products of this morning's practice. :) Really feeling the Christmas vibe!! I love the season of giving and remembering the joy of new beginnings. Emmanuel is coming, God is with us.
In my Tumblr blog, I had come up with my 2014 Christmas Wishlist. And one of the things I wanted was a Calligraphy Workshop. Up to this point, all the calligraphy I know are self-taught and born out of daily practice. I had been bugging Mart to allow me to attend a workshop in Manila by CraftMNL after a friend sent me a link. Unfortunately, after getting him to agree I found out that the class is now fully booked. Bummer right? But I had been following another calligrapher on weebly and realized she does one-on-one sessions. (Check her out here. ) So I asked Nina if she wanted to attend a class with me and now we are tentatively booked for a one in Makati. At the moment we are just narrowing the exact meeting place and time for a special in-depth session on Free Hand calligraphy. In the word's my sister used: IT'S A DATE! You have no idea how excited I am!! It's a super dream come true and even Mart now believes in my growing skill. He has even suggested that upon learning and developing, I could perhaps offer classes here in Legazpi. That could be a distinct possibility. Closer than what I even expect. You know why? I've been talking to a friend, and an even more experienced calligrapher, Raymond that perhaps we could organize a class here in Legazpi. Venue wouldnt be a problem, just looking for participants and necessary tools considering it's harder to source specialized crafting materials here in Legazpi compared to Manila. When he comes over we're going to give it some serious brain farting and action! Sooo excited!! |
