Im counting down the hours until 2014 closes and 2015 is ushered in.
Sorry haven't posted these past few days, I alongside my family went on an epic journey of the north. More on that later when I get a more reliable internet connection and a desktop. But to sum it all up it was a 1,500+ km journey from Manila to Cagayan Valley to Ilocos and then to Batangas in time for New Years with Martin's family. Now that all the speedy stuff is done Im spending the last few hours of the year catching up on my calligraphy practice. Hello once more to my cocoiro pen with the new additions of my tombow brush pens and noodlers flex pens (both of which are christmas hoards). So this is me wishing you a very Happy New Year! Cheers to the blessings joys laughter and fun 2015 will bring all of us! toodles!

Christmas time is usually the opportunity many take to have reunions and reminisce about the past while making memories for the future. Living 45mins away (by plane) has made me want to spend extra time with friends Ive made here in Manila. Which is why I scheduled a lunch reunion with my gal pals from my corporate ex life. Geli Lauren Kei and I met in the management trainee program of a bank..we all came from the same college, had similar work habits and really bonded throughout the 2 year stint. ever since graudation we would either travel together, hang out or have a meal. this time around it was lunch at Yabu. too bad though Kei couldn't make it, being based in Singapore now. (we missed u!!) time apart hasnt diminished the kwentuhan! lunch went by so fast with all the stories thrown back and forth. Geli is taking her masters. Lauren (and her husband) are improving and growing their business. so many has happened since we first met way back 2009. and yet we are as giggly as ever ( maybe more so!). reunions are the best!! I have always loved Magallanes church and it was my dream place to get married.
the charm of the place hit me again when we attended mass this morning. the natural lighting really makes the church so vibrant and festive!! this really takes me back home. christmas in manila will forever remind me of family and tradition. merry christmas! I have found the perfect thing that combines my 2 loves this season: calligraphy & metallics. Big shout out and thank you goes to Ate Shawie of Swirls and Stokes Ph (IG: @swirlsandstrokesph) now the big reveal: I got the 12 palette FINETEC Pearl Colors. So that's 12 gorgeous metallics that according to the box " can be used on nearly all surfaces". do you know what that means? endless projects and DIYs!! Finetec has been touted by many calligraphers, which has gotten me on a hoarding envy! luckily this palette was on sale so I grabbed up the chance since they sell like pancakes!! the paints are actually powder in form which you will have to dilute with water to get the consistency you'd want for brush or nib. i'm still researching online the "perfect" quantity so i don't over mix or under mix my paints. the palette is also very long-lasting -- you'll only need a little drop to go a long way in terms of strokes. boy am i giddy to use this especially for our christmas tags!! :) here are a few photos taken with my phone camera...come and drool with me!!
